Moving curiosities

Another old school skateboarding flick. Just awesome and way more fun to watch than most of the actual skateboard movies. The comments say that it´s Rodney Mullen.

PS: Watch the socks!

While I searched material for the last posting, I found this one. An amazing stupid looking invention from the 1950´s.

I´m so glad this has never been a trendsport. Imagine all the guys today were rolling around on those stupid unicycles or whatever this is…ah wait they did….another scary trend which is over….I hope

Have you ever seen adult men in suits and a helmet on, driving with a kickbike to their office? No? Thank god, it´s the same like they would only wear a diaper.

The next vid is far away from big events like X-Games and commercial heroes like Tony Hawk, far away from high-tech decks and trucks invented in space. This is simply old-school skateboarding, 1978 in england. And some of the tricks impress me more then those you can see in todays skateboard videos.

When I first saw some parkour movies on the internet, I was totally stunned by the smoothness of the moves.  I also liked the idea of using urban ground as a playground for moving. It remains me a little bit of what skateboard was and in some ways today is.
This piece here is one of the clips which totally knocked me out. The famous “Urban Ninja” and by the way, the Rise Against soundtrack also rocks.

A nice selfmade cut of different surf clips. It starts over with a smooth video from the 50´s and goes over to actual big wave surfing and strap surfing. The sound on the beginning is good, the silly reggae later on sucks a bit, but the pictures are great. There is a lot more surf stuff to explore on youtube, so why wait?
